David Van Driessche is a cultural photographer and expedition leader known for his powerful portraits and deep engagement with indigenous communities around the world. His work focuses on documenting traditional cultures, ceremonies, and tribal identities at a time when many of these traditions are rapidly disappearing. Through his photography, he aims not only to create visually striking images but also to preserve cultural heritage and share authentic human stories with a global audience.

Originally from Belgium and now based in Asia, David has spent many years traveling to some of the most remote and culturally rich regions of the world. His work has taken him deep into Papua New Guinea, where he has developed close relationships with numerous tribes across the Highlands and the Sepik region. These relationships have allowed him rare access to ceremonies, rituals, and everyday life that few outsiders have the opportunity to witness.

One of the central focuses of his work is Papua New Guinea, widely considered one of the most culturally diverse countries on Earth. With more than 800 languages and hundreds of tribal groups, the country offers a unique living museum of human traditions. David has dedicated a large part of his career to documenting tribes such as the Asaro Mudmen, Huli Wigmen, Skeleton Tribe of Mindima, and many other lesser-known cultural groups. His portraits emphasize both the artistry of traditional dress and the individuality of the people who wear it.
