"The last Uppu" Tribal Photography EXPEDITION

 

 

INTRODUCTION: This trip starts from Mandalay and after a full day shooting new scenes in Bagan, we leave to the Chin state to start our Photographic adventure. We are going to remote areas in the Uppu tribal regions to look for the last Tattoo ladies that have their face covered completely blacked with ink. We also photograph other Chin Tattoo ladies on the trip, but our focus is to find the last Uppu women and document as much as we can by photography their way of life. This trip is done by sitting on the back of a motorbike (private driver) so a good insurance is recommended although drivers are calm and well experienced with the roads. We also sleep at some homestay so be prepared for limited luxury conditions during your trip.

EXPERIENCE Beginner, amateur, enthusiast and pro photographers. Travel by private a/c car and MOTORBIKES. Moderate elevation changes and some walking. (*non-photographers also welcome)

Arrive in Mandalay Arrive in Mandalay and transfer to Bagan. Shooting scene with monks on the way to Bagan at a temple in Inwa with Novice monks and candle scene.

 

 

21 January, 2020: Full day Bagan Shooting Morning scene at viewpoint in Bagan<<<

Full day Bagan Shooting Morning scene at viewpoint in Bagan, full morning scenes in Bagan with models and novice monks catching the morning beams in the windows of the Bagan Pagoda’s amazing interior design. Rest at noon and lunch near the hotel. Small rest after lunch and then continue to shoot scenes in Bagan with horsecart, interior temples etc.

 

 

22 January, 2020: Bagan Kanpetlet (By Car)<<<

Bagan Kanpetlet (By Car)After breakfast we depart for our trip to Kanpetlet. Arrive in the afternoon in Kanpetlet and visit to the local town for a small walk around the main market area. Overnight in Kanpetlet.

(by motorcycle) Kanpetlet, Saw and Tattaw Early in the morning take the photos of some tattoo face ladies around Kanpetlet township. (Lunch at Saw township). In the afternoon visit to "Tattaw" village to see Uppu tribe tattoo face ladies. Lung Shae-Maw Chaung Mhan Taung - Ma Ser Twe village .(by motorbike.) Early in the morning , we will visit to the only blacksmith around the township to take the photos of traditional style blacksmith labour. Lunch at "Maw Chaung village".
